Dear Volunteers,

Today's announcement regarding the DNC is deeply disappointing. This is not the convention we wanted to host and certainly not the convention the city deserved to host. So many of you worked tirelessly for over two years to bring a major political convention to Milwaukee.  Thank you for all you did.

The beacon of hope from this experience is that we have come together as a community - hotels, retail, restaurants, bars, attractions, event venues, donors, businesses, elected officials, neighborhoods, volunteers - to showcase the best of our city and make a commitment to hosting a convention of this scale. We have united more than ever, with all of our uniqueness, to say to the world that Milwaukee is a first-class city that is capable of hosting a global event. We have worked together to brainstorm and create new ways to promote our city and partner together in creative ways. That is something to be proud of.

We lost out on the convention because of circumstances outside of our control and in the interest of public safety. But we will recover as a community and we know that we left it all out on the field. We gave it our all, and we will continue to fight for our community every single day, because Milwaukee is worth fighting for.

Please stay tuned for additional information. As soon as we have any details on what the virtual event in Milwaukee will look like, we will share them.

With gratitude,

Peggy
