Dear Friends, The Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) has made an important announcement about the Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee this summer. And I wanted to share this information with you immediately after receiving the attached DNCC press release. In the attached release, you will see a lot of changes to our original plans and hopes for this convention due to the pandemic. Though the Democratic National Convention looks different from what we expected, the great amount of exposure for our region remains the same. All eyes will be on the Greater Milwaukee area not only as the place where the next Democratic Party presidential candidate is accepted, but also as the city that successfully and resiliently hosted a major national convention during a pandemic, no matter what form that convention takes. To our hotel partners, we thank you for your flexibility and the service you provide in DNC planning efforts. To our entire hospitality community, we thank you for your continued willingness and dedication to an exceptional experience for our visitors. To our incredible volunteers, we thank you for stepping up when called to service and hope you will remain available as convention organizers determine their volunteer needs. We are very appreciative to the DNC for remaining committed to the Milwaukee area and the entire state of Wisconsin throughout the pandemic. Their teams continue to focus on having a convention that is safe not only to its attendees, but also to the residents of our community. There is much more planning and coordination to do for DNC Milwaukee 2020, and we will continue to update you as information becomes available to us at VISIT Milwaukee.
