MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- Giving Tuesday is around the corner and a new study found Milwaukee ranks fourth nationally for volunteering.

According to I Grow Chicago, 45% of Milwaukee residents volunteer an average of 57 million hours per year.

Wisconsin ranks #11 for states that volunteer the most, the study says. 37% of residents volunteer for 164 million hours per year worth an estimated $4 billion.

To help raise awareness of Giving Tuesday this Dec. 1st, I Grow Chicago found their results by analyzing volunteer data from the Corporation of National & Community Service to find out where Americans volunteer the most.

While Milwaukee expected to earn the number one position in 2020 after the DNC Convention, we should be proud of our proven track record of excelling every year. Let's get ready for a banner 2021 and beyond.

Thank you!
