Volunteer shift captain David Nawotka setting up the Ryder Cup airport welcome and putting greens

It's officially Ryder Cup week in Milwaukee (and for our neighbors to the north) so I hope you'll be cheering on the American team as they play at the always-stunning Whistling Straits. I also encourage you to cheer on the economic impact this will have on our region to the tune of $135 million. This event is a reminder of the importance of sports tourism and should be a point of pride for us all -- our community's sports-related assets are world-class and diverse.

Volunteer opportunities

Your help is greatly appreciated!

New volunteers who want to pair up for orientation, please select any of the shifts listed (open or filed) and email me of your interest at tsnell@milwaukee.org.

The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon needs hundreds of volunteers on race weekend!

Without your help, this event cannot be a success, that's right, they depend on you! There's still time to sign up for one of the many volunteer positions needed for race weekend. All volunteers receive branded apparel, lunch at the finish line, and a HUGE THANK YOU!

The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon is a USATF certified course starting at Grafton High School. This flat, scenic, point-to-point course travels south through rural countryside, quiet neighborhoods and finishes along the shores of Lake Michigan just north of the Milwaukee Art Museum at Veterans Park.
