Red Bull Flugtag is expected to welcome 30,000 attendees
A very busy July is well underway. CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ International) - No. 25 on Forbes' Top 100 U.S. Charities - takes over the Wisconsin Center District starting next week and will bring with them 14,000 hotel room nights. Shortly after CRU, Northwestern Mutual's annual meeting returns in person with another 16,000 hotel room nights. Thank you, volunteers, for helping make these events and the many others a big success!
Volunteer Needs
Join the fun and excitement of the 2022 USA Triathlon National Championships returning to Milwaukee in August! Please sign up to volunteer at USA Triathlon Volunteer, and share it with your friends, coworkers, and family.
The following incentives are available for nonprofit or company groups that sign up and complete 4-hour shifts: groups of 10 people receive $250; groups of 20 people receive $500, and groups of 30 people receive $1000. Individuals that sign up for multiple shifts will be entered into a drawing for a gift card/raffle item. Spread the word!

If you've been to our offices lately, you've likely had the pleasure of meeting our new Administrative Coordinator Aaron Kosma, who works at the front desk and handles myriad visitor inquiries every day. He reports on those inquiries, and in June, the top inquiries have had to do with our beloved - yet chronically underfunded - County Parks. This is a small anecdote, but it points to the fact that our parks are just as important to visitors as they are to the young people, the families, the golfers, the hikers, the sledders, and outdoors enthusiasts that reside here. So, if you care about Milwaukee's own "crown jewels," I encourage you to attend a public meeting on July 20 from 6-7:30 p.m., where the Milwaukee County Parks and Wisconsin Policy Forum will host a discussion about the state of the parks with park users and Friends groups of various parks. If you cannot attend the meeting but still want to be informed, I recommend reading Wisconsin Policy Forum's Sinking Treasure Report.
Mayor Johnson and Police Chief Norman announced this week that they will be holding community listening sessions in each of the 15 aldermanic districts beginning July 23. If you care about public safety as much as we at VISIT Milwaukee do, I hope you'll participate and be engaged in the process.
Finally, Halal Restaurant Week starts July 10 and runs through the 17th. Please support one of the participating restaurants this week and going forward.
