Welcome to the Team!
Visitor Experience Associate Teresa Benson joined the VISIT Milwaukee team in October. Teresa ensures our Milwaukee visitors receive a warm welcome and useful information to ensure their MKE trip is their best trip ever. She staffs the Visitor Experience Desk at our convention center and special events and also serves as the primary point of contact for volunteers who sign up for convention center opportunities. When Teresa isn't using her voice to welcome visitors, she can be heard speaking up as a freelance voiceover artist.
Volunteer Updates

Milwaukee downtown offers many wonderful lunch options; please share this list with your friends and visitors: https://www.visitmilwaukee.org/articles/food-and-drink/lunch-options/.
The VISIT Milwaukee annual volunteer appreciation/holiday event is happening next week for those volunteers who've given at least 10 hours of service this year or in 2020. In 2022, we'll begin quarterly events to recognize volunteer service. As a reminder, you're able to track your hours in the volunteer portal here. Thank you for all that you do! Cheers!
Community News
Following the Christmas parade tragedy in Waukesha, we have seen an outpouring of support and fundraising. VISIT Milwaukee is proud to partner on one such initiative taking place Dec. 22. The United for Waukesha Fundraiser at 3rd Street Market Hall will feature food and beverages from market hall vendors and community businesses. Not only will you be among the first to experience Milwaukee's newest foodie hotspot, but you will also wine and dine on some of MKE's finest fare, including amazing steaks from Carnevor! Please join us for great dining for a great cause.
Congratulations to our partners at the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC) for a successful All Member Meeting on Nov. 30. As part of its Region of Choice Initiative, we are working hard to close racial disparities and ensure an equitable Milwaukee for all. And some exciting news from the City of Milwaukee and the Human Rights Campaign shows we are on the right track.
For the fourth year in a row, Milwaukee received a score of 100 Percent on the Human Rights Campaign Equality Index. This index examines the inclusivity of municipal laws, policies, and services for LGBTQ+ people living and working nationwide. Non-discrimination laws, the municipality as an employer, municipal services, law enforcement, and city leadership's public position on equality all go into cities' ratings. This is one reason why we proudly say that Milwaukee is the place where Unique Unites!
