What a show! Thanks to Shift Captain and Super Volunteer Sandra Wicker (right) for helping make Giving Fest a big success!

Thanks also to LightTheHoanRadioMilwaukeeSummerfest, and the folks in 400 cars who joined the celebration!

Milwaukee Hotel Month is here! Over 40 hotels are offering great packages and deals throughout the month. The STR report shows that hotel occupancy in Milwaukee is down 45% year-over-year; we hope that this month will help bring a boost to our hotels, as well as to the surrounding restaurants and shops that guests love to visit. Treat yourself to a hotel stay this month, and make sure to encourage your friends, family, and followers to do the same!

Partner Spotlights

Eldr+Rime - With the temperatures still cold outside and snow on the ground, head over to the new restaurant, Eldr+Rime, at Renaissance Milwaukee West Hotel to experience the warm and cozy atmosphere that the Danish describe as "hygge" (pronounced Hug-guh"). We highly recommend sipping on a warm glass of Glogg, order oysters on the half shell, and for sure make sure to get the short rib stroganoff. For a Hygge time happy hour stop by Tuesday through Friday from 4-6pm.

The National - One of my favorite flavors around the city's restaurants is the taste of The National's salami, melted brie, and caramelized onions on a baguette. I've welcomed new transplants to Milwaukee over lunch with this sandwich. This woman-owned little breakfast and lunch restaurant on the corner of 9th and National deserves your visit. It's a small space but put them on your list.

Allie Boy's Bagelry & Luncheonette - Well, the water in Milwaukee must be just fine for bagel making. If you're a bagel snob, give this bagel baker and restaurant a try. I like to meet people for lunch here and then order ½ dozen bagels to go. There's a sweet backyard patio for outdoor dining when the weather's nice.

Webinar

Join us on Friday at 10:30 a.m. as we welcome our tourism colleagues from the surrounding regional area to talk about all the fun and interesting happening this spring and summer. We'll hear from representatives from Cedarburg, Grafton, Johnson Creek, Port Washington, and Wauwatosa. Click here to register.

4,000 Wisconsin Juniors Volleyball Players and Families in Town this Weekend! - March 6-7

We are happy to welcome back Wisconsin Juniors Volleyball Club to Milwaukee March 6 - 7 for their 2021 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Winter Classic. This will kick off a month of weekend volleyball tournaments bringing 3000-4000 attendees each week. We have worked closely with the Wisconsin Center and the Health Department to get an approved plan that will allow participants to compete safely. Due to capacity restrictions, teams will only be able to enter the Wisconsin Center 15-minutes before their match and must leave after - be prepared for more families than usual looking for places to eat and explore before and after games!

Museums Re-Opening

We're so excited to see several of Milwaukee's museums re-opening with new health and safety plans approved by the Milwaukee Health Department in place! These cultural institutions are so important to our city, and we hope visitors and locals will make a plan to safely visit and support them. The Jewish Museum Milwaukee and Milwaukee Public Museum have already reopened, and the Milwaukee Art Museum, Harley- Davidson Museum, and Discovery World will open this month.
