Happy October and Thank you!

This week many members of the VISIT Milwaukee team have been welcoming attendees of the Society of American Travel Writers' annual convention, which is bringing over 200 top-tier travel media and destination PR professionals to our community. The purpose of hosting this event in Milwaukee is to expose this prestigious group of media to the diverse facets of our community and over 100 partner businesses while generating earned media about Milwaukee for years to come.

I want to give a huge shoutout to all who helped make the Ryder Cup visitors feel right at home at the airport and the Hilton City Center and those of you who staffed the Wisconsin Center kiosk and provided visitor information and ideas to the many attending the Van Gogh exhibit.

The folks at the American Rose Society conference were so thrilled with our volunteers and support. Thank you! And a thank you to all assisting at the VISIT Milwaukee office, Harley Hometown Rally, and Council on Railroad Transportation! WOW!!

Partner Updates
Exciting news from our partner businesses.

  • While we are sad that Christkindlmarket will not be returning to Milwaukee this holiday season, you can still get your market fix in Chicago and Wrigleyville starting November 19th.
  • Jewish Museum Milwaukee's newest exhibit opens next week, all about the evolution of the scrap industry, from its early pioneers to the world of recycling and sustainability today. Wisconsin has an especially rich history in the industry, and the stories of many local businesses are told throughout.
  • Taliesin has a slate of fantastic fall programming, including its final family day of the year that will be Oktoberfest themed on Oct. 17.
  • It's Valley Week, which celebrates the vibrant and dynamic Menomonee Valley, and one great way to celebrate it is at a movie nightat Harley-Davidson Museum.
