Happy AAPI Month & Friday Webinar

Four years ago, Shary Tran, May yer Thao, Erik Kennedy and Jessica Boling founded ElevAsian with the goal of raising awareness and appreciation for the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in Milwaukee. Tune in to hear how their original idea has grown and succeeded this Friday at 10:30 a.m. You can register here.

I wanted to remind you that if you've missed any of our webinars since we began them on March 25, 2020, you can watch any of them here.

Leisure Travel's Rebound

In a recent presentation, Tourism Economics announced that they now estimate that leisure travel will return to 2019 levels sometime in 2022, which is amazing news. They expect business travel to return to somewhere near 2019 levels in 2024.

Partner Updates

  • Congratulations to the team at the Harley-Davidson Museum on its forthcoming new permanent venue. On Monday Harley-Davidson Museum and 1903 Events announced that construction on a new event space will begin this summer. The 8,200-square-foot event space will break ground later this year, with an expected completion date of spring 2022.
  • The Elegant Farmer is celebrating its 75th anniversary from May 13-16 with, you guessed it, lots of pie. Will you be taking advantage of their pie sale on National Apple Pie Day?
  • A 160-room Radisson is proposed for a vacant lot on North Water Street between Broadway and Milwaukee Street (across from the North End Apartments). Construction is proposed to begin summer 2022. For a map of proposed hotels, recently opened hotels, and those that are under construction, check out this map put together by Bryan Kubel, partnership sales manager.
  • More nonstop flights! Southwest Airlines is continuing to expand service from Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE) with new nonstop flights to Miami International Airport (MIA) starting June 12 and continuing every Saturday through September 4.
