Tips on how to use the volunteer portal

Hello, Volunteers!

We know situations come up and you may need to unregister from a shift. To give us as much of a heads-up, please use the volunteer portal to unregister. It will inform more than one person on the team of the change. This approach allows for a backup in case a member of the staff may be unavailable, on vacation, or may miss an individual email or text.

If it is less than 24-hours notice, please unregister in the portal AND follow up with a call or text to the person listed as the site supervisor in the opportunity.

Here are the portal steps below.

Unregistering from an Opportunity

You can unregister from a volunteer opportunity as long as the opportunity is in the future.

To unregister from an opportunity or shift:

  1. From your profile menu, click Need or Opportunity Responses.

Your Volunteer Responses table lists all of your past volunteer responses.

2. Find the need or opportunity, and then click Unregister from the Options dropdown on the right.

3. Click Yes to confirm your unregistration.

You can also unregister from a need by opening the opportunity-information page and clicking the Unregister button.
